Spinoza believed that being moved is an active power.
A book, a sentence, a street can each make us want a new life.
Le Fond looks for the things that once moved us, in literature, art, myth, history and the body. We cast them in silver and pass them on to new bodies, new times, new lives.
We believe you can create before you are given permission, and want something before you can explain it.
Chen Chuncheng writes that once you know, you cannot un-know. A light that has touched you never quite becomes a stranger again.

Two people
Le Fond is two people in Beijing. One reads and writes, names each piece and works out the thinking behind it. The other designs it, makes the samples, packs it and sends it off.
The first piece went on sale in November 2025.
From reading to design
Every piece starts from a passage or a painting. We keep them in five themes. Each theme has its own book pages, a reading list and a painting we kept looking at. Object pages give their sources, and a paraphrase is called a paraphrase.

Making and wearing
All 925 silver. Surfaces are polished, matte, sandblasted or oxidised. On oxidised pieces the shading is part of the design.
Some pieces carry a pearl, a silver obsidian, a natural crystal or a natural sapphire.
Rings use Hong Kong sizes, bracelets go by bare wrist measurement, and pendants come on an adjustable silver chain or a leather cord. Custom-length bracelets are made to your wrist measurement.
The ear cuff needs no piercing and fits either ear. Don’t bend it open or squeeze it.
Pages, images and packaging
Each theme has a set of book pages: an opening, the text, a painting and a reading list. The main pieces come with a 70 by 70 mm Ex Libris card and a care card.
